So What Is In These Leaves?
Antioxidants called catechins.
Just what are catechins? You may have heard of them being found in chocolate, berries and red wine. But,
Green tea is known to be rich in catechin polyphenols, or also known as epigallocaechin gallate (EGCG for the short). EGCG is a powerful antioxidant and these leaves has a higher concentration of EGCG than other teas. Why?
This is due to the minimal process used to produce these leaves. These are not allowed to oxidize like
a black or oolong, which changes the EGCG in these particular teas. This is what sets this brew apart
from the others.
