A Review of Scottish Breakfast Tea, Taylors of Harrogate.

This is my first review, and it is on the Scottish Breakfast Tea from Taylors of Harrogate.

This one has a rich, dark color when poured into a cup. Of all the Breakfast Blends this one is the most robust.

Scottish Breakfast Tea

Some of these blends can be a bit bitter, or even smoky. Scottish Breakfast is not. There is a smoothness about this dark brew with very little to no bitterness.

<This particular one has become my go to loose leaf to brew in the morning. It has the robust flavor to wake-up the taste buds and the caffeine to get the blood pumping.

Since I often share my morning brew with my husband, we often discuss what we like about the beverage. He is a great advocate of Black Teas.

He likes this one the best, describing it with the words of dark, rich with a smooth pleasant mouth feel. What he calls a true tea taste. Asked him about this and all he could say, “It tastes like tea should taste." He always adds a little sugar and milk.

I too enjoy this dark rich brew in the mornings. I find it to have a grassy smell when poured into the cup. The taste to me is like when I would chew on a piece of straw after it had been cut. It's a good way to wake up in the morning. I enjoy it with a little milk.

What makes this brew great.

You can make this as strong as you want with no adverse effects on the flavor. The flavor only gets stronger, with no harsh bitterness.

Scottish Breakfast is a blended tea. Taylors of Harrogate have selected the best Assam and African leaves they could find to make this blend.

The tea blenders personally visit the tea estates themselves to choose the finest hand-plucked seasonal leaves.

Their goal is to develop a long-standing partnership with them, and to pay a fair price.

In this way they are able to make a difference in the lives of the growers and at the same time keeping quality high.

We have found this to be a great hot brew to have with Bacon and Eggs with toast, pancakes, pastries and more. It also pairs great with rich desserts, that is if you plan to stay up a little later in the evening. I have not found a decaf version.
